VBrick's products are used in a wide variety of applications. Our video management and delivery solutions have enhanced education, reduced costs, and increased productivity in schools, corporations, government agencies, healthcare and other organizations. By leveraging their IP networks, our customers have discovered the power of video for communications. Nowadays, networked video is no longer a luxury. Video is now a mission critical component of enterprise communications.
VBrick manufactures Video Encoding and Decoding appliances which are affected by the WEEE directive. These include:
- VB6000 Range of Video Encoder and Decoders
- VBrick IP Receiver
VBrick also integrates Software onto other Manufacturer’s platforms which are also covered by the WEEE Directive. These include software installed onto Servers for Video on Demand, Web Server, and Video Archive applications.
According to the WEEE Directive these products can be returned free of charge from August 13, 2005. For the B2B products VBrick does not need to join the local authorities’ collection systems throughout the EU but can make different arrangements with the customers (Directive 2002/96/EC Article 9 and Amendment WEEE 2003/108/EC).
All VBrick products manufactured after August 1, 2005 will be taken back cost-neutrally. In doing so VBrick attaches importance to a logistic solution which is most reasonable. Therefore, VBrick will recycle all VBrick manufactured products by returning them to the US and disposing of them properly here. All Server products will be recycled through the server manufacturer.
We are convinced that this strategy is a satisfactory solution for the environment as well as for our customers.

Specific details about specific VBrick products are available upon request.
VBrick's RoHS compliance planning is based on conformance to the RoHS Directive issued by the EU, and not on any specific Member State legislation or legislation from any other countries. As other environmental regulations are passed by the U.S. or other countries in which VBrick does business, VBrick's compliance planning will respond accordingly.
VBrick is relying on the lead-in-solder exemption for servers, storage, storage arrays, and telecommunications equipment, when applicable. The electronics industry is examining the data on lead-free solder and VBrick is collaborating with the industry research on this topic.
Labeling is not required by the RoHS Directive and no industry or regulatory standard for RoHS labeling exists. Currently, VBrick does not intend to label products as RoHS-compliant.
VBrick provides a
