National Federation of Blind to Use VBrick Appliance to Stream Audio and Video from its 68th Annual Convention
More than 50,000 members will be able to participate in conference proceedings via streaming media

WALLINGFORD, Conn. – July 01, 2008- VBrick Systems, Inc., the industry leader in online networked video, today announced that the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) will use the VBrick, an industry leading networked video appliance that enables customers to capture and deliver live streaming video over any network, to stream live audio and video from its annual convention to all of its 50,000 members. NFB members viewing the proceedings remotely will have access to the annual Board of Directors meeting proceedings and the general sessions of the convention.  In addition to streaming audio, the Federation also plans to take advantage of VBrick’s video capabilities to stream live video during the annual awards banquet.

The NFB will also stream audio of the second annual March for Independence, a 5K walk-a-thon and celebration demonstrating the independent spirit of the nation's organized blind, their friends, family, and supporters.

“Our national convention is the largest gathering of blind people this year, and it is a powerful tool for inspiring the blind to move beyond any preconceived restraints and to exercise their right to live life with the same fullness and quality as their sighted counterparts,” said Dr. Marc Maurer, President of the National Federation of the Blind..  “Streaming live audio and video from our convention is one more example of how we are striving to put all of the resources of this organization at the fingertips of all blind people.”

The purpose of the NFB is to act as a vehicle for collective self-expression by the blind.  Since its beginning in 1940, the NFB has been working toward the ultimate goal of helping blind persons achieve self-confidence and self-respect, and the complete integration of the blind into society on a basis of equality.

“As a company that strives to help people live better, VBrick is proud to help the NFB bring the power of live audio and video to the many NFB members who are unable to attend the national convention,” said Vince Graziani, chief executive officer, VBrick Systems, Inc.  “VBrick is proud to support the NFB in its tireless efforts to improve the lives of blind people throughout the country.”

VBrick’s core product offering is the industry’s leading networked video appliance.  This Video Brick enables customers to capture and deliver live streaming video over any network.
