VBrick Unveils Industry’s Most Complete Solution to Distribute Live and On-Demand Video Across the Enterprise
Company’s Enterprise Media System Eases Video Content Management and Distribution, Earmarks Video as a Critical Component of Unified Communications

Wallingford, Conn. – Oct. 5, 2009 – Achieving another important milestone in its strategy to establish IP video streaming as a distinct, essential component of unified communications, VBrick today unveiled the VBrick Enterprise Media System (VEMS), the only complete, integrated hardware and software system for distributing live or on-demand video and rich media presentations throughout a global enterprise.  VEMS uses advanced bandwidth optimization to intelligently route users to the best location to receive video content, without impacting the performance of other networked applications.  Moreover, VEMS’ intuitive user interface and advanced search capabilities combine to form a complete video management system that can scale to tens of thousands of concurrent users across the enterprise.

Vodafone, one of the largest mobile telecommunications companies in the world, is experiencing first-hand the power of IP video to share information with colleagues and partners.  Said Dr. Armin Hessler, head of customer and IT service operations, Vodafone:  “As a mobile industry innovator that for more than 20 years has continuously transformed global communications, we pride ourselves on using the most advanced communications technologies to manage highly effective and profitable internal operations.  Only VBrick could offer an end-to-end solution to enable our teams to use high-impact IP video streaming to more effectively communicate across a vast network of 79,000 employees and offices in 27 countries on five continents.”

Expanding VEMS’ position as an essential unified communications application, VEMS now also includes a plug-in for IBM Lotus Sametime, allowing enterprise users to seamlessly integrate video with IBM’s flagship unified communications tool – from instant messaging and telephony to email and Web conferencing – and easily manage the content and distribution with VEMS.  Now, without leaving the Sametime client, users can search and view live and on-demand video and rich media presentations, share content with their contacts and chat with content creators.  The Sametime plug-in marks the first in a series of steps VBrick is taking to link IP video streaming with enterprise-class unified communications platforms.

VEMS At-a-Glance

VEMS is currently the only complete IP video streaming solution on the market that:

• Eliminates bandwidth roadblocks;  VBrick’s intelligent video networking functionality uses defined zones to dynamically direct   users to IP video content and prevent them from pulling multiple video streams over low bandwidth WAN links

• Scales to tens of thousands of concurrent users; the VBrick Reflector appliance, installed at the network edge, ensures VBrick can scale to meet the needs of virtually any enterprise on the planet

• Manages live or on-demand video from high-end CEO/executive “broadcasts” and dynamic video marketing campaigns to ad-hoc, employee-driven communications

• Deploys quickly within any existing IT infrastructure, eliminating the time and cost concerns that have kept many enterprises from realizing the tremendous business benefits associated with live and on-demand IP video streaming
