VBrick Wraps 2009 with Industry-First Product Introductions, Analyst Recognition and Significant Customer Milestones
Wallingford, Conn. – January 4, 2010 – VBrick Systems, the recognized leader in enterprise IP video solutions, today marked the close of a momentous year capped by several industry-first product launches, recognition from top analysts for unparalleled technology innovation and an impressive array of new customer wins across the enterprise, government, education and healthcare sectors.
In 2009 VBrick unveiled its Enterprise Media System (VEMS), winning plaudits from analysts and media alike for delivering the only complete, integrated hardware and software system for distributing live and on-demand video and rich media presentations throughout a global enterprise. The separately announced VEMS integration with IBM Lotus Sametime, which allows users to seamlessly integrate video with IBM’s flagship unified communications tool, highlighted VBrick’s focus on cementing video as an essential collaborative application within the enterprise.
Earlier this year VBrick announced Rich Media Studio, the industry’s first video and data capture appliance that combines video and xGA/DVI capture into one video stream. Rich Media Studio allows organizations to easily deliver live rich media presentations over IP networks and record content for on-demand viewing. The integrated stream can be distributed to tens of thousands of viewers without having an adverse impact on the network.
Industry Awards Accumulate
In August, top research firm Frost & Sullivan named VBrick the 2009 market leader for enterprise video streaming solutions. The firm concluded that VBrick leads all competitors in providing a complete enterprise video streaming solution that enables “acquisition to delivery” of live and on-demand video over local area as well as wide area networks. With the IP video streaming market estimated to grow at a double digit compound annual growth rate from 2009 to 2015, VBrick is poised for even greater success in the years ahead.
Customer Milestones
Despite strong economic headwinds coupled with a major slowdown in IT spending, VBrick added over 400 new customers to its roster in 2009. Among the high-profile brands that tapped VBrick to power IP video communications is Vodafone, one of the largest mobile telecommunications companies in the world that now relies on VBrick to support rich media-based executive communications. The Vodafone deployment marks one of the largest corporate streaming deployments in the world, with the VEMS platform engaged across a network of 79,000 employees in 27 countries and five offices.
Other corporate customers VBrick signed in 2009 include ING, Aetna, Pratt & Whitney, Nestle and Dow Chemical. In the government market, VBrick landed contracts with the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Bureau of the Census. And in 2009 VBrick more than doubled its VBoss online streaming service customer roster, adding high-profile organizations, including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Kaufmann Foundation.
In the healthcare sector, VBrick signed on leading brands including Shire Pharmaceuticals and Rhode Island Hospital Trauma Center, among others. And VBrick won a number of new contracts in the education market, including University of Nevada/Las Vegas, Cleveland Public Schools and McLennan Community College.
