Wallingford, Conn. – April 12, 2010 – IP video technology leader VBrick today unveiled its new DVB-T Gateway solution, ensuring that European corporate, education and government customers can now deliver digital terrestrial TV services directly from a DVB-T source. Connecting a digital terrestrial TV aerial to a single DVB-T Gateway Appliance enables customers to stream high-quality live digital TV and radio from up to 8 DVB-T multiplexes over an existing IP network. With this compact, highly configurable Gateway Appliance, customers can have up to 125 channels of TV and radio streamed simultaneously across an IP network to multiple screens and desktops. The result is radically improved economics for TV distribution.
Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB-T) Technology has become a critical component of global digital television broadcasting, setting the standard for digital terrestrial and IP-based TV delivery services. While residential television broadcast services throughout Europe reliably deliver a wide range of stations to consumers, enterprise customers have been forced to install multiple IP video streaming solutions to access the same number of TV and radio stations within their corporate networks.
Simple, Powerful Solution
VBrick’s solution eliminates the need to deploy multiple Gateway devices to receive channels from different DVB-T multiplexes. When used alongside VBrick’s award-winning VBrick Enterprise Media System (VEMS), the DVB-T Gateway provides organizations with the most comprehensive TV, video and rich media delivery solution on the market. The DVB-T Gateway features auto-scan channel configurations and a host of other features to simplify installation and configuration. The DVB-T Gateway is the only complete, end-to-end solution on the market that delivers:
• Distribution of multiple DVB-T channels to hundreds—even thousands—of users over an IP network through a single Appliance Gateway
• Multicast DVB-T content streamed immediately to desktops and display devices without compromising image quality or network bandwidth
• Seamless streaming of sub-titles and Spanish language translation
• Control channel access through a simple point-and-click interface
• Compliant encrypted channels that can be de-scrambled using the plug-in CAM Modules
“With this new solution VBrick once again affirms its commitment to delivering fully integrated, end-to-end IP video and audio content to corporate, education and government customers who demand the highest possible viewing experience,” said John Shaw, Chief Operating Officer, VBrick. “For the first time, our customers across Europe can employ the prized DVB-T industry standard, which helps them maximize the business value of the digital TV and radio content within their organizations.”
