Wallingford, Conn. and Boston, Mass – March 15, 2011, 2011 – Enterprise IP video leader, VBrick Systems, today announced the latest milestone in its fast-paced growth with the opening of its Boston office as a new base for next-generation product engineering and marketing. The Boston office, located in Woburn, will also be used by the VBrick sales team to host customers for company visits and product demonstrations.
“By tapping into the area’s vast network of highly skilled engineering and marketing talent, especially in the video arena, we’ll continue to scale up our company and lead our industry,” said Doug Howard, Chief Executive Officer, VBrick Systems. “Opening this new office in Boston represents the logical next step for VBrick as we extend brand awareness and win new corporate, education and government customers in the greater Boston area and around the world.
Today’s announcement comes on the heels of recent global expansion and acquisitions which have placed VBrick at the top of the technology and business news agenda. On Feb. 22, VBrick announced its acquisition of Fliqz, a leading on-demand video service, which adds hundreds of new customers to VBrick’s existing installed base of over 9000 customers. And on Feb. 1, VBrick announced a number of new global partner relationships which have tripled the company’s global revenue in the past year.
VBrick’s expansion into the Boston area comes at a time when enterprises are looking to exploit the many benefits of IP video streaming. According to industry analyst firm Gartner, the market for video content creation, storage and delivery is taking off as enterprise-wide use of video accelerates. In a recent survey entitled “Video Content Management and Delivery: Streaming Goes Mainstream,” published in August, 2010, Gartner found that over 70 percent of enterprises surveyed expect to be using video to power critical applications such as executive communications, collaboration and training by 2012.
VBrick’s video streaming solutions supply enterprises with live and on-demand video streaming to any device across IP networks including smartphones. VBrick has already signed on a number of high-profile enterprise customers in the Boston area, such as State Street, Harvard University, Novartis and the University of Massachusetts.
