Enterprise IP video technology leader VBrick will unveil its new suite of IP TVGateways at IBC 2011, Booth 13.403, at the RAI Convention Center, Amsterdam, September 9-13. The VBrick gateways support high-definition (HD) content, and receive and distribute satellite TV as well as digital terrestrial services. In addition, the new IP TVGateways are available as a modular product, enabling unprecedented scalability.
The VBrick IP TVGateway suite ensures that corporate, education, healthcare and government customers can easily distribute and manage multiple television channels, making them easily available to thousands of users over an existing IP network. This eliminates the need to invest in expensive cable services and allows for the efficient use of multicast technology for bandwidth management. Content streamed through the IP TVGateways can be viewed on a variety of devices including televisions and computers. Television content can be centrally managed as well as integrated into other video applications such as digital signage and in Unified Communication environments such as Microsoft Lync and OCS -- creating a real-time, rich media collaboration experience. The IP TVGateway is a capture device within the VBrick Enterprise Video Architecture (VEVA), which spans video capture, distribution, play-out and video content management. When integrated with VEMS MystroTM -- VBrick’s media management product -- access to IP TVGateway broadcasts is tightly managed. The integrated solution provides a range of security measures to assure the integrity of both live and stored content as well as manage user authentication and access. VEMS Mystro’s integration with Active Directory & LDAP makes it easy to set access policies and manage changes. In addition to security, VEMS Mystro provides intuitive program guide listings, displayed on users’ PCs and on screens via set-top boxes. VEMS Mystro also offers recording, storage and subsequent on-demand access of content.
VBrick’s IP TVGateway connects to digital TV signals, providing IP streaming of standard definition (SD) and HD channels from DVB-T/T2 and DVB-S/S2 broadcasts. Its modular design is cost effective and easily expands -- a one-slot-standalone as well as three- and ten-slot rack mount chassis are available. Each slot may be populated with either the DVB-S/S2 Gateway Module for satellite sources or the DVB-T/T2 Gateway Module for terrestrial sources. Hot-swappable modules assure uptime.
