Set Top Boxes
Use the Set Top Boxes module to add and configure set top boxes that have been identified by DMEs in your system. When you designate a DME in your system as a STB Connector DME and it receives a SAP announcement from an active STB, it will pass on the relevant information needed by Rev. If all information is correct, the STB will be automatically created under the Pending STBs tab. An Account Admin must then accept STBs on the Pending STBs tab to in order to administer them and configure Channel Settings on the Current STBs tab.
To use Set Top Boxes with Rev:
●MF-STB v2.0.1 or greater (Only VBrick Multi-Format Set Top Boxes are supported at this time)
●You must have Rev 7.16 or greater installed
●You must have DME 3.16 or greater as your STB Connector
●Only RTP/RTSP/H.264 unicast/multicast stream formats are supported
●Videos must be active before they can be streamed from Rev
●If you want to use Rev’s Zone features, you must stream the URL through a Presentation Profile
The current steps to integrate an STB for use with Rev are:
1. Upload a Video Through a URL Link (Prepare your videos for STB use)
2. Designate a DME as a MF-STB Connector DME (Prepare your DME)
3. Accept a Pending Set Top Box (Prepare your discovered STBs)
4. Configure Rev Channel Streams for Set Top Boxes (Configure previously added video channels)
5. Set a Channel Stream for a Current Set Top Box (Set a channel on your STB)
