Release Notes v7.21

Release Notes v7.21
Vbrick Rev enables organizations to unleash the power of video to educate, inform and inspire employees anywhere and on any device. Its ease of use increases engagement and adoption by delivering the same consumer-grade experience employees expect from their use of video and social media sites. Customers can stream high quality live and on-demand video across their own networks using Rev’s embedded eCDN capabilities, which ensure that video uses the least possible bandwidth. This document contains Release Notes for the latest version of Rev.

Additional Information: If you are new to Rev, view the "Rev Set Up - Getting Started" topic in Online Help for administrative suggestions on preparing Rev for use.

Browser Notes: IE9 and IE10 are no longer supported browsers on Rev.
Muted Playback: If your videos and playlists are set to autoplay, be aware that they will start muted. This also applies to your Webcast events in that, when an attendee joins an event, video for the event plays automatically starting muted as a result. Users can then unmute it just as with videos and playlists. See the Muted Autoplay feature below for details.
Updates in 7.21
New Features
New Features in version v7.21 are detailed in the table below.

Feature
Description
Rev Branding and Style Updates
Branding in Rev has been updated significantly and now allows you to customize your portal much more extensively for your organization. For example, you may use additional colors and fonts throughout the portal. Select from different header formats and colors than the classic Rev view. And you may also decide how the Featured Video carousel appears to your users with the different options now available.
The following topics have been updated and created to demonstrate the various style and branding updates made to Rev.
PLEASE NOTE: When Rev Cloud customers are upgraded to Rev v7.21, the interface font will be changed to Roboto. Customers may change to a different font by uploading a .woff file (See the Customize Rev Portal Fonts topic above)
Real Time Web Analytics
In addition to Event Reports at the end of your Webcast, you are now also able to obtain analytics in real time, as the event is occurring. This includes real-time individual (and aggregated) attendee details, attendee device stats such as the current and fall-back streams, and stats on additional devices you are using during the event such as DMEs.
View the following new topics for details on how to view and read real-time Web analytics:
360-Degree Video Support
Rev now supports uploading, transcoding, and playback of 360-degree videos on HTML-5 players in Rev. This feature must be enabled by your account admin before you will be able to upload and view 360 videos. New transcoding presets have been created for the support of 360 videos and will be applied automatically for new and existing Rev customers. Finally, once you have uploaded 360 videos, you may also use Rev’s video filters to search for them.
NOTE: 360 video file sizes, particularly those that are 4k video, can be very large. This should be taken into consideration for account management usage when viewing and managing 360 videos. Further, 360 videos are not available for mobile browser playback at this time.

Event Host Role
A new Event Host role has been created in Rev. Event Hosts are able to create and then manage the events that they create including the event editing, controlling, and hosting functions.
Event Hosts are not able to edit or manage events that they do not create unless specifically designated as hosts of that event by an Event Admin. This role is also not able to view Private Events (that they did not create) on the event calendar either.

Muted Autoplay
When videos and playlists are set to autoplay in Rev, modern browsers are blocking (or will soon block) automatically playing video if there is audio associated with it. As a result, for autoplay videos, Rev will start playing that video muted and a prominent Unmute icon will appear on the player. When clicked, the video content is unmuted, and the icon will then be removed. This also applies to Webcasts in Rev since video begins playing automatically when an attendee enters an event.
