Upload an MP3 File From Your Hard Drive
Use the Add Content icon in the user menu bar to upload an MP3 file from your hard drive. Currently, MP3 files are the only audio files supported in Rev. MP3 files are uploaded and treated the same as video files in that they will play in Rev’s video player and you will also need to modify video settings once uploaded. You must have upload permissions for this icon to be present.
*To upload an MP3 file from your local hard drive:
1. Click the Add Content icon on the menu bar.
2. Click the Upload Files tab.
3. Click the Add File box. You may select multiple MP3 files at once to upload. The MP3 file(s) will be uploaded as a video file in Rev with a MP3 file icon thumbnail background. As a result, you may manipulate it as a Rev video including modifying video settings, using an approval process, subtitles, and so forth.
4. Your most recent uploads will remain visible in the dropdown. Click See all uploads to view them (or click the video title to go to the Video Player page.). Click Clear completed to clear the recent uploads.
5. Audio uploads are automatically set to Inactive status by default just as video uploads.
6. You must select a valid file type or you will receive an error message. See: Supported Video and Audio File Formats.
7. Once your file(s) have finished uploading and transcoding, you will receive an email with a link to the video. This means you do not have to keep manually checking your videos to see if they have finished processing.

Note: By default, all uploaded files in Rev, including audio files, are set to inactive status and must be manually activated. This allows you to control when content is available for general viewing so that video settings such as thumbnails, categories, access controls, and so forth may be put in place before allowing your audience to view them.
